St. Charles College of Arts and Science organized a rally on March 7, 2025, as part of its week-long Women’s Day celebrations on the theme “மகளிரைப் போற்றுவோம் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்போம்” (Honoring and Protecting Women).

 

Mrs. T. Leema Rose, Former Councilor of Eraiyur and Proprietor of Charles Petrol Bunk, graced the event as the Chief Guest and delivered a special address. Mr. Sundararajan, Sub Inspector of Police, flagged off the rally, which saw the enthusiastic participation of 326 girl students from 9 departments.

 

The students carried 20 placards displaying powerful messages such as “பெண்கள் முன்னேற்றம், நாட்டின் முன்னேற்றம்” (Women’s progress is the nation’s progress) and “வரதட்சணை வேண்டாம், வரமாக கல்வி கொடு” (Say no to dowry, give education as a gift).

 

Rev. Sr. Dr. Amali Anbarasi, Secretary of the college, presided over the event and appreciated the students’ active involvement in promoting women empowerment and safety.
