Blood Donation Camp at St. Charles College of Arts & Science
On February 14, 2025, St. Charles College of Arts & Science, Eraiyur, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the National Social Service Scheme (NSS), St. Charles Leo Club, and Kallakurichi District Medical College Blood Bank. The event aimed to encourage students and faculty to contribute to the noble cause of saving lives.
Rev. Sr. Dr. Amali Anbarasi (Secretary) welcomed the gathering and encouraged participation for the greater good. Dr. S. William Suresh Kumar (Principal) emphasized the significance of blood donation, while Rev. Sr. Mini Mascrene (Deputy Principal) and Fr. Paul Raj (Parish Priest, Our Lady of Rosary Church, Eraiyur) graced the occasion. The event was efficiently coordinated by Mr. V. Francis Xavier (NSS Programme Officer) and Mr. A. Dominic Savio (Leo Association Coordinator).
Medical Team & Support
The camp was successfully conducted with the support of a skilled medical team:
Dr. P. Vijayakumar, MD. (Medical Officer, Govt. Hospital Medical College, Kallakurichi) led the team.
Ravichandran (Circle Health Supervisor, Elavanasurkottai PHC) supervised the camp.
Health Inspectors: P. Sakthivel & E. Selvakumar provided vital assistance.
Medical Officers: Dr. K. Thenmozhi (Elavanasurkottai) & Dr. G. Malarvizhi (Eraiyur PHC) ensured donor safety.
Nursing Team: Sathya, Christine Jebanithiya, Kayalvizhi, Julissasi and Lab Technicians: Selvam & Siva Sathyamoorthy ensured smooth blood collection and post-donation care.
The camp was a resounding success, with active participation from students and faculty, reinforcing the spirit of service and social responsibility.
