St. Charles College of Arts and Science (affiliated with Annamalai University) in Charles Nagar, Eraiyur, Kallakurichi District, hosted a heartwarming Christmas celebration on December 23rd, 2024, at 10:30 am. The event, held on the college grounds, brought together faculty, students, esteemed guests, and members of the local community for a morning filled with festive cheer and meaningful reflection.
The celebration commenced with a prayer, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. Following the prayer, a welcome address was delivered, expressing gratitude for the presence of everyone gathered and setting the stage for the day’s festivities. The audience was then treated to a selection of traditional Christmas carols, filling the air with joyous melodies and fostering a sense of unity. A special segment titled “Christmas Vibes” further amplified the festive spirit, likely incorporating music, dance, or other creative expressions related to the holiday theme.
Mr. A. Santiagu Singarayan M.Sc., B.Ed., M.Phil., Supervisor, Government of Tamil Nadu, Block Resource Centre, Tirukovilur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His inspiring address emphasized the true spirit of Christmas, highlighting themes of compassion, goodwill, and the importance of giving back to the community.
Adding to the honor of the occasion were Guests of Honour, Mr. M. Anbalagan B. Sc. B. L., Advocate, Ulundurpet, and Mr. B. Nijam Khan, MNMK, Kunjaram. Their presence underscored the college’s connection with the wider community. Mr. Anbalagan delivered a special address, followed by Mr. Nijam Khan’s insightful presentation on “Christmas is Universal,” which explored the global significance and diverse cultural interpretations of the festival.
A captivating Christmas Tableau brought the nativity story to life, visually narrating the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. The performance served as a poignant reminder of the religious significance of Christmas. The celebration also featured a vibrant dance performance, adding a touch of cultural flair to the festivities. The much-awaited arrival of Santa Claus brought smiles to faces of all ages, as he distributed gifts and spread cheer.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing committee, faculty, staff, and students who worked diligently to make the event a resounding success. The Christmas celebration at St. Charles College of Arts and Science successfully conveyed the message of love, peace, and unity that Christmas embodies, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
