Anti Drug Awareness Programme on 16.07.25
St. Charles College of Arts and Science organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme on 16th July 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in ABC Hall. The programme aimed to sensitize students about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage them to lead a healthy, drug-free life.
The session commenced with the Felicitation Address by our respected Secretary, Rev. Sr. Dr. Amali Anbarasi, who emphasized the critical role of education in shaping a generation free from the grip of substance abuse. She urged students to make informed choices and embrace a life of value and integrity.
The event was graced by the presence of our Principal, Dr. S. William Suresh Kumar, and Vice-Principal, Rev. Sr. Cynthia Robinson, whose support and guidance were instrumental in organizing the programme.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Francis Jayapathy SJ, Director of Arrupe Sugalayam, Trichy, delivered a compelling address on the harsh realities of drug addiction. His inspiring words motivated students to live with purpose, discipline, and positive values.
Following this, Mr. Harish Raja, a professional De-addiction Counsellor, served as the second resource person. He explained in detail the psychological and physiological consequences of drug abuse and highlighted the importance of timely awareness and intervention.
The programme concluded with a warm Vote of Thanks delivered by a student representative, who expressed deep appreciation to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, resource persons, faculty, and students for their active participation and support.
The event was a great success and left a lasting impact on the young minds, reinforcing the college’s commitment to nurturing responsible and value-driven individuals.
