Two-Day AI Seminar & Workshop 2025 | St. Charles College, Eraiyur

The Department of Computer Science, in association with IQAC, organized a Two-Day Seminar & Workshop on Artificial Intelligence on 11th & 12th September 2025 at ABC Hall. The programme aimed to provide students with both conceptual insights and practical exposure to AI.
The event commenced with a Prayer Song and Welcome Address.
Rev. Sr. Amali Anbarasi, Secretary, in her address, emphasized the growing significance of AI in education and industry, urging students to embrace technology for innovation and lifelong learning.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Maria Wenisch SJ, Principal, Loyola College, Vettavalam, delivered the Keynote Address. He traced the evolution of AI since the 1950s, discussed its advantages and challenges, and highlighted that “AI is business everywhere now,” reflecting its universal impact.
Hands-on Sessions
The practical sessions were led by:
Prof. A. Raja Prabhu, Assistant Professor & Dean of Students, Loyola College, Mettala
Prof. S. Dharmaraj, Head, Data Science, Loyola College, Vettavalam
Students received hands-on training in AI tools and applications such as ChatGPT, Zoho Inventory, Gamma AI, Gemini, Nano Banana, Quillbot, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, QR Code Generators, and interactive platforms like Kahoot. These sessions gave participants direct exposure to real-world AI practices.
Valedictory Session
On 12th September 2025, the event concluded with the Valedictory Function.
Our respected Principal, Dr. S. William Suresh Kumar, in his address, stressed the need for continuous learning and adaptation to thrive in the AI-driven world, drawing parallels with earlier technological revolutions like computers and mobile phones.
Students from various departments shared their feedback, appreciating the enriching and practical nature of the sessions. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks.
The Two-Day Seminar & Workshop on AI successfully combined academic insights with hands-on learning, leaving students inspired to explore the vast potential of Artificial Intelligence.
