Department of Mathematics Organizes Workshop on “Document Writing Using LaTeX”

The Department of Mathematics, St. Charles College of Arts and Science, Eraiyur, organized a one-day workshop on “Document Writing Using LaTeX” on 31 August 2026 at ABC Hall.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Rev. Sr. Amali Anbarasi SCB, Secretary, Dr. S. William Suresh Kumar, Principal, and Rev. Sr. Jasmine SCB, Academic Coordinator.

Dr. S. Muthupandiyan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, School of Engineering and Technology, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Samayapuram, Tiruchirappalli, served as the resource person. He provided students with an interactive and hands-on introduction to LaTeX and its applications in academic and research documentation.

Students from B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Chemistry, BCA, and B.Sc. Computer Science, along with faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, actively participated in the workshop. The session covered document formatting, mathematical equations and symbols, matrices, tables, figures, graphs, bibliography and citation management, and the preparation of templates for assignments and theses.

The workshop enhanced the participants' technical documentation and academic writing skills and motivated them to adopt LaTeX for preparing professional academic and research documents. The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and active interaction from the stu dents.
