The Department of Physics organized an Invited Talk on “Electrode Materials for Sustainable Metal-Ion Batteries” on 14 August 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at ABC Hall. The programme was organized to provide students with exposure to recent developments in battery technology and sustainable energy storage.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. D. Magimai Antoni Raj, Head of the Department of Physics, who welcomed the resource person, Management, faculty members, and students. Rev. Sr. Jasmine, Academic Coordinator, honoured the resource person, Dr. Michael Ruby Raj, by presenting a shawl.
Dr. Michael Ruby Raj, Assistant Professor (Research), School of Chemical Engineering, Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea, delivered an informative talk on electrode materials and their role in developing efficient and sustainable metal-ion batteries. He highlighted recent advancements in battery technology, energy storage, renewable energy, and electric mobility.
The session provided students with valuable insights into current research trends and emerging technologies. It encouraged them to explore higher studies and research opportunities in the fields of advanced materials, energy storage, and sustainable technology. Students actively participated in the session and benefited from their interaction with the resource person.
