ArchBishop Most.Rev.Dr.Antony Anandarayar blessed the College and said that it was his dream to have a College to empower the students in and around Eraiyur and it has become a reality through St.Charles College. It is affiliated to Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar. As a Christian Minority College it imparts liberal education of ethic and moral character to students of all creeds to develop them intellectually sharp and emotionally balanced. The approval to start the classes for the academic year 2019 &#8211; 2020 was granted by Thiruvalluvar University on 9<sup>th<\/sup> September 2019. With the blessing of our lady of Guadalupe, we started the classes with 47 girl students who were simple, sincere and were eager to learn from the staff with great hopes. A small and humble beginning with great confidence in the Lord St. Charles College will become a temple of higher learning in this rural area. B.Sc Mathematics, B.Com, B.Sc Computer Science and B.A English Literature were the four UG degree courses to begin with.<\/p><p>St.Charles College of Arts and Science for Women was converted to St.Charles College of Arts and Science in the academic year 2020 &#8211; 2021 in accordance to the need of the local rural boys and their parents. Our College is affiliated to Annamalai University in the year 2021 &#8211; 2022. The coat of arms of the College consists of a shield divided into four quarters with a\u00a0<strong>Bee hive, Pen on the open Book, Burning Lamp enlightening the Mind and a Person climbing the Ladder.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The shield represents strength and victory, controlled environment and safety. Yellow as a luminous colour, encourages optimistic thinking, creativity, intellect and of enlightenment. Whereas the dark blue symbolizes integrity and power.
